Today we delivered 88 beautiful hand-made cards to senior residents at North Creek by Bonaventure in Bothell, WA. The cards were made last Friday by a group of caring community members at our 2nd Annual Sentiments for Seniors event.
Attendees of the event – ranging in age from toddler to grandparent – spent their evening creating thoughtful hand made cards for senior citizens in their community that they would never meet. They put their love and creativity into ensuring that a segment of our community does not go forgotten. And today we saw our elders’ faces light up upon hearing that their community cares about them.
Two sweet kiddos helped to pass out the cards in person. We sang songs to and with the residents. Mailboxes by each apartment door were filled with cards. Hearts were lifted (and we’re talking about OURS) as stories of life-long traditions and holiday collections were shared.
We couldn’t have spread this much joy and cheer without the help of so many friends, family, and strangers – and we are so very grateful for the support we’ve received. We hope this can be a holiday tradition for us that lasts years to come!
